The Challenge
The Mercedes-Benz website did not include all upcoming vehicle models in its “Upcoming Releases” section. Users had to rely on a dropdown menu with limited options, making it hard to discover new models or get excited about future releases. The lack of a visually engaging layout and incomplete content created a frustrating and uninspiring user experience for potential buyers.
Proposed Solution
The goal was to redesign the “Upcoming Releases” section to make it more informative, visually appealing, and user-friendly. I proposed adding a grid of upcoming vehicles with high-quality imagery and quick slides to quick view by model. This allowed users to visually explore future vehicles and find the information they needed without relying on hidden or incomplete dropdowns.
The Initial Site
The original page relied heavily on dropdown menus complete display of upcoming models. Users had to know what they were looking for in advance and manually search, which limited discovery. There was no visual incentive or streamlined experience to explore what’s next from Mercedes-Benz, a missed opportunity for both marketing and UX.
What I noticed
The dropdown menu was the only way to view upcoming vehicles, which didn’t include all of the upcoming vehicles. Without knowing what you’re looking for users would have to click each one to find out.
Solution
To modernize the experience and improve accessibility, I redesigned the upcoming releases section as an interactive slide based interface. Each vehicle is featured in its own dedicated slide with a high resolution image, model name, key highlights, and a “Learn More” button that directs users to full specs and release details.
This design allows users to explore upcoming models visually and at their own pace, eliminating the need for dropdown menus. It creates a more immersive and premium experience that aligns with the Mercedes-Benz brand while making all future releases easy to discover.
Conclusion
The redesigned section provides a clearer, more engaging way for users to view and learn about upcoming Mercedes Benz vehicles. By shifting to a slide based layout with supporting visuals and direct CTAs, the interface now feels more intuitive and premium.
This project emphasized the importance of aligning UX with brand identity, especially for a luxury brand like Mercedes Benz. Moving forward, I’d explore integrating filtering by category (electric, SUV, performance), release dates, or even AR previews to push the experience further.
