The Opportunity
In today’s creative economy, ghostwriting plays a major role in music, literature, public speaking, and content creation. Yet, there is no centralized platform tailored specifically to connect clients with experienced ghostwriters across these fields. Most freelance platforms like Fiverr or Upwork are too broad, making it hard for users to find specialized talent or build trust in such a confidential service.
GhostPad was designed to solve this gap by creating a focused, secure, and user-friendly marketplace for ghostwriting. Whether someone needs lyrics, a book chapter, or a speech, the goal was to provide a streamlined way to find, hire, and work with professional ghostwriters — all under one roof.

Project Goals
My Approach
I began by researching pain points on existing freelance platforms like Fiverr and Upwork, focusing specifically on ghostwriting clients and providers. Through competitive analysis I learned there was a lack of trust, clarity, and categorization in existing platforms for this niche.
From there, I created user personas for both ghostwriters and clients, then mapped out the flows for service posting, hiring, messaging, and file delivery. I prioritized ease of onboarding and searchability to reduce friction on both sides. Iterative wireframes helped me quickly test different layouts before moving into high fidelity designs in Figma, focusing on minimalism, privacy, and intuitive interaction.
Conclusion
GhostPad fills a gap in the freelance space by offering a tailored experience specifically for ghostwriting. The final design offers a clean and trustworthy interface that simplifies the hiring process and prioritizes secure, anonymous collaboration.
This project sharpened my skills in niche UX research and in designing two sided platforms. Moving forward, I’d explore built in contract templates, rating systems, and AI driven service recommendations to further boost trust and user satisfaction.
